Pidgin 2.5.5 released, fixes minor headaches

A number of minor problems have been fixed in this new release. If you've been having problems, upgrade and hopefully they will be gone.

  1. I use mandriva 2009.0 and pidgin Crash, when i tray to view my other contacs list, i think is a Character of some contact Nick... But really i dont know, Pidgin is amazing work... Take Care... If can resolve it, that will be very cool, Sorry for my english, im writting form Venezuela.

  4. Latest won't load .5.4 was ok. Visual C++ Runtime Lib: This application has request the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. No other info.

  5. Today after Removing my .purple in my home partition, and reinstalling Pidgin from Repositories... Works Cools! Pidgin Rules! =)

  6. resolved my 2.5.5 issue above. I let it install the dictionary. Removed it and it started working again.

    Ubuntu releases it's own Pidgin packages. Our Fedora and CentOS are for legacy releases of each distro.

  9. Somehow it crashes .... 2.5.4 was ok. The package was downloaded from getdeb.net. I hope a fixed version will come out soon. :-/

  10. Compiled fine on Ubutu Intrepid 64bit, but ICQ is still complaining that the client is too old

    had the issue with previous version and with 2.5.5

  12. When I install 2.5.5 on Vista, I have a problem at launch, with an unexpected quit. I had to go back to 2.5.4.

  13. Ok retried to enable the ICQ module today, its connecting fine now (maybe a problem with the ICQ network then???)
